Ideas for Weeknight Relaxation

The Maids Cape Cod • Dec 12, 2014

Relaxing can be really difficult, especially on week nights when you know that you have things to do the next day. Don't stress out about everything you have to do! Check out these ideas to learn how to have some fun and de-stress on those weeknights when you're at a loss for what to do.

Have A Game Show Night

Watching game shows can actually be surprisingly fun. It doesn't matter what show you watch, they're all game shows. You can watch classic dating game shows or go with Jeopardy! or Wheel of Fortune. Even watch a new show like Baggage. Watch on regular channels or on the Game Show Network for a fun way to kick back and relax, and maybe even learn something while testing your knowledge and game skills.

Have A Glass of Red Wine

Red wine has been shown to be healthy for the heart and reduce stress when consumed in small amounts. With that kind of logic, who could refuse? If you have kids and they're off to bed or don't have kids but have had a long day, uncork a bottle of red. Let it breathe for at least 20 minutes and enjoy. If you can share it with a friend or a partner, all the better

Draw A Bath

Remember that episode of Friends where Monica draws a nice bath and offers it up to Chandler? He becomes so hooked on the relaxing experience, the music, the candle, the bubbles, that he steals the next bath that Monica draws up for herself! Unabashedly, Chandler was pursuing the path of peace. Drawing a bath up for yourself is a great way to take the stress out of a long day and help your body and mind just relax the way they need to. Whether it's putting in some scented bath salts, dropping in a bath bomb, or lighting some candles(or all three), a bath is the perfect way to unwind on a weeknight.
